SAVVY: A Sign Language Interpreter Moves Forward

WOW!!! SAVVY was an eye awakening moment for me. I realized I should be using the things that God had provided for me. My passion and dream is ‘interpreting’. As a person who was born deaf I have a passion to teach sign language and to serve as an interpreter for others. I had many questions prior to attending SAVVY for example; I often wondered how I was to precede.

Here’s my challenge: trying to accomplish my goals while living everyday life and not having the ability to stop to do what I need to do to build an interpreting business or serve as an independent consultant for an already established business. I want to keep moving towards my dreams, but get distracted with life as a single mom of two children. I desire to help deaf people with their everyday life by serving as an interpreter.

I currently work for a larger grocery store in Ohio. When I see someone needing assistance I sign to the customer without any hesitation. Management often will call me up front to ask me to sign for customers needing assistance. I keep saying I need to get busy and get my interpreter certificate and move on with my life, and SAVVY assisted me to move forward. I'm planning to go back to school in January to finish my associate degree and complete the first level in order to move to the next level!

It has been eye opening after getting all the correct information and understanding that women need to stand for themselves. I'm got the right information now how can I use it? By following my dreams!

Ready to follow your dreams? Register for SAVVY: A Transformational Weekend Experience November 14 & 15, 2014 today by clicking here. Only 25 seats available.
